Behind the Bars: Lance Haidet

This time Behind the Bars we have the young up and comer from the Raleigh Clément Professional Cycling Team. Lance Haidet has been on a steady rise all season. He has been in the mix more than you would expect from a young rider in the elite fields. Looking for some big this from this rider at U23 nationals.

Age: 18


Q: Why do you race?

A:  Because I absolutely love riding my bike, and racing provides me with goals that I have to constantly train and strive for. 


Q: Years riding vs years racing?

A: I really started riding on a regular basis when I was around 12 or 13, and then started racing when I was 14. 

Q: Favorite postrace meal?

A: Immediately after the race, I always go for some type of recover drink or chocolate milk. My favorite dinner after a hard race, or pretty much any time, is a soppressata pizza with tons of fresh arugula on top.  


Q: Describe TRP in 4 words

A: Precision, Reliability, Confidence, Power. 


Q: Finish the sentence “I ride bikes …”

A: for the continuous adventure it provides. 


Q: Best advice ever received?

A: "There is no substitute for hard work." 


Q: Worst racing advice ever received?

A:  "Sit in and wait for the sprint…”  In other words, I am definitely not a sprinter. 


Q: Favorite subject in school?

A: Physics
